Donate to Tibetan Homes Foundation's New School

Tibetan Homes Foundation was founded in 1960 to provide an education to young Tibetans growing up in exile. At present over 2,350 children attend the school. In addition, each year Tibetan Homes Foundation receives around 200 new arrivals from Tibet. Many children arrive with very low levels of education and consequently, Tibetan Homes Foundation has to deal with a large group of children, all with very different levels of education. On top of this these children also need a substantial amount of care and support, particularly in their first few months at the school; they are often traumatised from their journey and experiences in Tibet and now have to adjust to a new and unfamiliar environment.

Tibetan Homes Foundation urgently needs to construct a new school specifically for recently arrived children from Tibet where they can receive specially designed classes before being integrated into the main school. The new school will cater for 200 children and will offer both boarding and education in one combined site.
