Thangkas
We are delighted to offer these very special and unique thangkas painted by students studying at the vocational training centre at Tibetan Homes Foundation, one of our main partners in our sponsorship program. The centre teaches traditional Tibetan Thangka painting which helps preserve an important part of Tibetan art.
Each thangka comes with a photo of the student who painted it, making it very personal and special. The students and the department of vocational studies will benefit from each sale.
A thangka is a Tibetan Buddhist painting, usually on cotton, that depicts a Buddhist deity, scene, auspicious symbol or mandala. They follow a systematic grid of angles and intersecting lines and incorporate symbols that are in accordance with guidelines laid out in Buddhist scripture.
We hope you will take this opportunity to buy a truly unique work of art.
